Friday Fashion

I have off on Friday so Thursdays are my Fridays and this is what I wore last Thursday.
You know how by the end of the week you are exhausted and totally over doing any work? No just me?
Well by this Thursday I was running on fumes and needed
Something comfortable but pretty enough to
Get me through the day.
I found this dress in a ball and stuck it in the
Dryer to get the wrinkles out. Meanwhile I put
On shorts and a tank top because, well, the dress
Isn't mine (it's my sister's) and I thought it was
A shirt.
When I put it on I was very surprised but in a good
way. It made my day!

Spicy Salsa Verde

My sister's fiancé loves to grow tomatillos
We have a ton of them laying around all the time. Luckily I love salsa verde! However, I always loved the mild stuff until I discovered a spicy verde at a local restaurant. I can't get enough of it so I tried to make it myself.

I preheated the oven to 400

Put 6 small tomatillos and a couple jalapeños in a cast iron skillet and roasted them for 20 mins

Then I let them cool and stuck them on the blender.

Then to the blended mixture I added 1/4 of a chopped medium red onion

I also added 1/4 ts of salt and 1/4 ts cumin

Then a little lime juice and plenty of cilantro

Get me a straw I could drink this stuff!

Perfect Pico

My family loves Pico de gallo but Im not really a fan. We had tons of tomatoes from the garden so I decided to make some and I ended up actually liking it!
Here's what I did:

Chop up a red onion and see how much you get out of it

Chop some tomatoes ( you want an equal amount of onion and tomatoes)

Then add a pile a fresh cilantro that is also an equal amount.

1/3 onion
1/3 tomato
1/3 cilantro

Then I just added a jalapeño with the seeds!
A big clove of garlic
Salt and pepper
And the a little fresh lime juice

It's so easy and so good!

Most Comfortable Flip Flops

I love havaianas! Flip flops are a staple in any Belle's closet. I used to get blisters from mine but then my momma showed me these. Havaianas are the most comfortable flip flops I have ever worn and I have worn them all day without getting one blister.

Lucchese Boots

I need to take a minute to acknowledge these boots! Lucchese boots are amazing.
Have you ever gone to work or school and gotten this horrible feeling in your stomach like you are still wearing your slippers? It happens to me all the time when I am wearing these boots because they are so comfortable.
I've had them for only a little over a year but I can already tell you they are getting better with age.
Yep Lucchese Boots are pretty expensive but I can honestly say its worth the money. I have tried on a lot of boots and some very expensive brands just don't work for me because they aren't comfortable. These feel great and look amazing. I get so many compliments on them because you can tell they are nice boots just by looking at them.
I love these things!

Amen.

Good Bye Summer

The breeze blowing through no-man's land today is chilly and a horrible reminder of what is ahead of me.
I can no longer continue to hashtag summer on my Instagram and pretend its okay.
I am in a horrible place today and I need a little southern comfort so I am wearing these beautiful Corral Boots to get me through a day with a low of 63... I know it's not that bad. I'm being very dramatic. It might have something to do with the fact that my momma is headed to North Carolina or the weekend and I'm stuck here. Bless. Her. Heart. Haha Just kidding all is well as long as she brings me back a couple cases of Cheerwine.

** I also am breakin out one if my emergency moon pies and this dreary day.

Boot Rescue

Check out my new boots! Not... Haha
So I know I have said this before and I will probably say it again: DON'T throw away boots... Like ever!
The Lord only knows how old these vintage Tony Lama boots are. I wish I had taken a shot of these babies a few months ago. Yikes!
Vintage boots are the best. I know someone who has a great pair and guess where they got them? The trash can outside their sister's house... NEVER throw boots away!
Take them to a shoe repair place. Ask around and find a good one though. You want to find someone who knows how to work with cowboy boots or you could end up with some sort of weird heel on them. But they will polish then up and re-sole them and you really won't believe your eyes when you see them :)
